Posted Updated

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — A fire at Fort Bragg has displaced more than 20 soldiers.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, flames broke out in a room on the third floor of the barracks on Los Banos Road. No one was in the room at the time.

Because of heat and smoke damage, 21 soldiers of the 82nd Airborne Division will now have to move to other buildings. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

One firefighter was hospitalized overnight after suffering smoke inhalation.
