Triangle Residents Banish Cabin Fever This Weekend

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, NC — After a few days of snow-induced hibernation, life in the Triangle inched back toward normal this weekend.

People who have been stuck at home braved the roads to get back to their normal routines. Local gyms, malls, and grocery stores were packed.

Garbage collectors in Raleigh, Cary, Durham and Chapel Hill made up for lost time, picking up bags and bags of trash that had piled up over the last few days.

Weather did not stop the mail as postal carriers ventured onto the snowy side roads.

But the sun that brought people out of their homes was not enough to dry all the roads. The threat of black ice sent people back home and brought out road crews for another long night of work.
