DURHAM COUNTY — In the midst of fall, Durham County is dealing with a serious water shortage. Lake Michie and Lake Little River are drying up due to the lack of rain.
Environmental leaders are urging everyone to conserve. Firefighters have even cut back training as a result.
Terry Rolan of the Dept. of Environmental Resources said that part of the problem is man-made. He said that Lake Little River was recently drained for a construction project.
