Fayetteville man sought, accused of pushing girlfriend into fire
Authorities are searching for a Fayetteville man accused of burning his girlfriend's clothing, punching her in the face and then pushing her into the fire, causing her to suffer second- and third-degree burns.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office has issued arrest warrants for Larry Donnell Batie, 28, of 5648 Gulf Drive, on charges of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree arson.
Investigators say Batie set fire to Shatavia Edmonds' clothes on Sunday in the bedroom the couple shared.
Edmonds, 23, tried to get out of bed and grab her purse from the fire when Batie punched her in the face and knocked her to the ground, authorities said. He then tried to force her face into the fire, causing the burns, sheriff's officials said.
A medical helicopter took Edmonds to Chapel Hill’s Burn Center, where she was being treated for her injuries. Her condition is unknown at this time.
Batie is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds. He has the initials “BB” tattooed on his neck and “THUGGED OUT” tattooed on his left forearm.
