Libertarian presidential candidate to speak at Duke

Bob Barr will talk about the issues of importance to the Libertarian party during the address, which is set to begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

DURHAM, N.C. — The Libertarian nominee for president, Bob Barr will speak at Duke on Tuesday.

Barr's appearance, in room 139 of the Social Science building on Duke’s West Campus, is open and free to the public.

Barr will talk about the issues of importance to the Libertarian party during the address, which is set to begin at 5 p.m.

Mike Munger, Libertarian gubernatorial candidate, is chair of the political science department at Duke. He said, “Mr. Barr recognizes that the fight to restore liberty, and respect for the Constitution, is a long one. So he has been focusing on visiting college campuses, because the next generation of voters, and leaders, are there right now."

Duke has extended an open invitation to all presidential candidates.

Barr is on the ballot in 45 states, including North Carolina.
