CARY, N.C. — Town Councilwoman Julie Robison said she plans to resign in June because her husband is taking a job in Virginia.

Robison, who has served on the council since 2001, said she wouldn't leave before the council votes on Cary's 2012-13 budget.

When she leaves, the open position will have 18 months left on its term. It's up to the rest of the Town Council to appoint someone to fill her seat.
