RALEIGH, N.C. — Don K. Davis, a 7-year member of the North Carolina Symphony Board of Trustees and a retiree from the senior management team at Progress Energy, will serve as interim president and CEO of the symphony while it looks for a replacement for David Chambless Worters.

Worters is leaving to take a similar job with the Van Cliburn Foundation based in Fort Worth, Texas.

Worters's resignation is effective Nov. 15. Davis will take on his duties on Monday.

Worters was recruited to the Cliburn after an international search and succeeds Richard Rodzinski, who retired in September 2009.
