Black Caucus Foundation gives $110,000 to colleges
The North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus Foundation on Friday presented 10 participating historically black colleges and universities with a check for $110,000.

The two-day conference and fundraising event was held last week at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Research Triangle Park. It included over 1,000 scholarship banquet guests, 500 prayer breakfast and scholarship luncheon guests and over 200 conference attendees.
The theme for the event was investing in promising futures.
“It is becoming increasing difficult, in today’s economy, for students to realize their dream of a college education. Many students are forced to postpone or even forego college because they just cannot afford it. Scholarships are crucial to these students’ success," Rep. Alma Adams, a Greensboro Democrat and the caucus' chairwoman, said in a statement.
NCLBCF was founded in 1983 for the purpose of supporting African American college students through educational programs, scholarships and internships.
