FORT BRAGG, N.C. — Lt. Gen. Frank Helmick assumed command of the XVIII Airborne Corps during a ceremony at the Main Post Parade Field at Fort Bragg on Thursday.

Helmick was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the infantry in 1976 from the U.S. Military Academy.
