Mount Olive dedicates new residence halls
Students began moving into the $5.7 million, 37,331-square-foot residence halls in August.

Mount Olive College dedicated two new residence halls Saturday.
The ceremony honored lead donor Otha E. Herring and his parents, Annie Mae Whitfield and Everett Edwin Herring, for whom the halls are named.
"Naming the residence halls after his parents was his subtle way of reminding each of us the importance of family and community," said his daughter, Mary Herring Drummond.
Students began moving into the $5.7 million, 37,331-square-foot residence halls in August. Each of 23 apartments has bedrooms, bathrooms, a shared living room, kitchenette and laundry area with a washer and dryer. In all, 92 students, mostly upperclassmen, will live in the new halls.
