WakeMed Cary names new director of nursing
Gail Sturtevant, who is director of operations for the Heart Center at WakeMed in Raleigh, will begin her new position on Aug. 10.

Gail Sturtevant, who is director of operations for the Heart Center at WakeMed in Raleigh, will begin her new position on Aug. 10.
Sturtevant will be responsible for all nursing departments at the hospital and will work closely with the medical, administration and support staffs.
Sturtevant joined WakeMed in 2007. She has a master’s of science in nursing (MSN) from Duke University and a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) from the University of South Carolina at Columbia.
“We are so pleased to welcome Gail to this new role at Cary Hospital,” said Mary Ann Wilcox, senior vice president and chief nursing officer. "Gail will ensure nursing plays a key role in operational decision-making as Cary Hospital continues to grow with the community."
