WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — Wayne County Public Schools will operate on a 10-hour, four-day work week for the summer, the district announced Monday.

From June 15 to August 14, district administrative offices, child nutrition, exceptional children, and the WCPS print shop will be open Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Individual schools and departments may have other hours, but all will observe the four-day week and all district buildings will be closed on Fridays.

This is the third year the district has adopted a flex schedule in the summer as a cost-cutting measure.
