<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Organizers expected about 6,000 people to celebrate Turkish culture at one of the state's premier cultural festivals Sunday.

The <a href="http://www.ncturkishfestival.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">North Carolina Turkish Festival</a> runs until 9 p.m. in the Exposition Center at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.

The four-year-old festival showcases &quot;one of the world’s most ancient and colorful civilizations,&quot; according to the event Web site.

There will be folk dances, Ebru water marbling, calligraphy displays, children's entertainment and a one-man circus from the Fritzy Brothers. Festival-goers can also dress like sultans, sample Turkish cuisine and browse through a Turkish bazaar.

More than 100 volunteers with the Divan Cultural Center put on the annual event.
