Cumberland launches crime alerts program
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office on Monday launched a crime alert program to notify the public of ongoing criminal activity in local neighborhoods.
Posted — Updated"We believe the concept of alerting the public to crime patterns or trends will allow law enforcement to solve crimes quickly and ensure a safer community," Sheriff Earl "Moose" Butler said. “Local citizens are the greatest crime-fighting tool we have to date. Utilizing them in our day-to-day operation will help us generate leads and tips that will bring criminals to justice.”
People who want to inform deputies about any crime in Cumberland County can call 910-484-8477 to leave a message. They can leave a call-back number if they want a deputy to get in touch with them, or they can remain anonymous.
