Golfers pitch in to upgrade Raleigh home for wounded vet

Four professional golfers participating in the Rex Hospital Open took time Tuesday to help volunteers working on improvements to a Raleigh home of an Army Reserve veteran.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Four professional golfers participating in the Rex Hospital Open took time Tuesday to help volunteers working on improvements to a Raleigh home of an Army Reserve veteran.

Ben Briscoe, Paul Haley II, Martin Piller and Alex Prugh pitched in with Military Missions in Action, a nonprofit based in Fuquay-Varina that assists disabled veterans and supports active service members.

Chief Warrant Officer Evelyn Mangin served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom and received the Bronze Star with Valor.
