CARY, N.C. — After sweeping the events at the USA Jump Rope Regional tournament, the Cary YMCA SuperSkippers are headed to the U.S. National Jump Rope Championship in Long Beach, Calif. in June.

The jump rope team earned 32 first-place finishes out of 34 speed events and 26 first-place finishes out of 28 freestyle events at the regional tournament. All of the team members who competed qualified for nationals.

The skipping doesn't stop there. After the national tournament, the team will compete in the World Jump Rope competition in July in Washington, D.C., and the FISAC-IRSK World Championships in Tampa, Fla. in August.

The SuperSkippers were founded in 1994 and today has over 60 athletes who compete in regional, national and international competitions. The team has won dozens of national medals, won overall gold in the 2006 Worlds competition and tied for second place overall at the USAJR Nationals in 2011. Team members even appeared in the 2010 Macy's Day Parade.
