Spring 2012 college graduation schedule

Newly minted college graduates and their families are celebrating across the Triangle and eastern North Carolina this spring.

Campbell University: The main graduation ceremony takes place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 in the Pope Convocation Center.
Duke University: The commencement ceremony will be held at Wallace Wade Stadium at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 13. Fareed Zakaria, a CNN anchor, TIME editor and Washington Post columnist, is the featured speaker.
Durham Technical Community College: The commencement ceremony takes place at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 in the Durham Performing Arts Center.
East Carolina University:  The graduation ceremony takes place at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 4 at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
Fayetteville State University: The university's ceremony takes place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 5 at the Crown Coliseum.
Louisburg College: The graduation ceremony takes place at 5 p.m. Friday, May 4 in the Dickson Auditorium of the Seby B. Jones Performing Arts Center.
Meredith College: Alumna Silda Wall Spitzer, former first lady of New York and founder of Children for Children, is the featured speaker at the graduation ceremony set for Sunday, May 6 at 10 a.m. in the college's amphitheater.
Mount Olive College: Graduation takes place at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5 in the Kornegay Arena. The featured speaker is state Rep. Efton M. Sager, of Wayne County.
North Carolina Central University: Commencement for graduation and professional degrees takes place at 3 p.m. Friday, May 11 in the McDougal- McLendon Gymnasium. The ceremony for baccalaureate degrees will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 12 in O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium. State NAACP President William Barber will speak at the undergraduate graduation, and Warren Ballentine, attorney and radio talk show host, at the graduate school ceremony.
North Carolina State University: The graduation ceremony begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 in the PNC Arena.
North Carolina Wesleyan College: The graduation ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5 in the Dunn Center of the Performing Arts.
Wm. Peace University: Graduation will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5 on the College Green in front of Main Hall.
Saint Augustine's College: The ceremony takes place at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5 on the College Quadrangle.
Shaw University: The commencement ceremony will be held in the Spaulding Gymnasium at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12.
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, May 13 in Kenan Stadium. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will deliver the commencement address.
Vance-Granville Community College: The ceremony takes place on Friday, May 11.
Wake Technical Community College: Three ceremonies honoring graduates will take place on Saturday, May 5, at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the new gymnasium on Main Campus.Commencement speakers will be Dr. Scott Ralls, the N.C. Community College System President, and Rep. Paul Stam.
