New program offers injured NC State students free rides around campus
A new program at NC State University will offer rides around campus to students who have a mobility disability.

Wolfpack Pick Up is a pilot transportation program that will pick up students, free of charge, and take them to class.
Requests for a ride must be submitted at least one day in advance, by 3 p.m., and a confirmation will be sent by 9 p.m. if the request has been accepted.
NC State student Paige Maxon helps to organize the free rides.
"It is just an easy way for students who have an ankle injury or are on crutches for weeks so they don't have to hobble up and down stairs and possibly slip on wet bricks and struggle when they get to class," she said.
Students are expected to be present at their pick up location on time to ensure eligibility for future rides.
Students will be taken as close to their destination as possible.
