Mayor Darryl Moss said the town Board of Commissioners had voted Wednesday night to lift a ban on lawn-watering and car-washing. As the town's Lake Rogers water supply dropped, there had even been talk of trying to require people to turn off shower water while they soaped up, and commissioners voted for the other restrictions in mid-August.
Thursday, Town Manager Bob Schaumleffel said a recently completed water connection with the South Granville Water and Sewer Authority made it possible to bring water from Lake Holt.
No other communities on the South Granville system are restricting use, Creedmoor officials said,so they did not see why their residents should be deprived any longer.
Lindsay L. Mize, authority executive director, said Lake Holt could supply current demand for at least 250 days, and restrictions were not needed now.
