New movies this week: The Wild Life, Sully

RALEIGH, N.C. — A look at what's new in theaters this week.

The Wild Life (Animation, PG, Starring Ilka Bessin, Dieter Hallervorden, Matthias Schweighöfer, Yuri Lowenthal) - On a tiny exotic island, Tuesday, an outgoing parrot, lives with his quirky animal friends in paradise. After a violent storm, Tuesday and his friends wake up to find a strange creature on the beach: Robinson Crusoe. Slowly but surely, they all start living together in harmony, until one day, when their comfortable life is overturned by two savage cats. A battle ensues between the cats and the group of friends but Crusoe and the animals soon discover the true power of friendship up against all odds (even savage cats).

The Disappointments Room (Horror, R, Starring Kate Beckinsale, Gerald McRaney, Lucas Till, Mel Raido) - Dana and David move from Brooklyn to a once-grand southern mansion with their 5 year old son looking for a fresh start. But Dana's discovery of a secret room unleashes unexplainable events that test her sanity and slowly reveal the home's terrifying past.

Sully (PG-13, Drama, Starring Tom Hanks, Laura Linney, Anna Gunn, Aaron Eckhart, Autumn Reeser) - On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the "Miracle on the Hudson" when Captain "Sully" Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.

When the Bough Breaks (PG-13, Drama/Horror, Theo Rossi, Regina Hall, Morris Chestnut, Jaz Sinclair, Jeff Caperton) - John and Laura Taylor are a young, professional couple who desperately want a baby. After exhausting all other options, they finally hire Anna, the perfect woman to be their surrogate - but as she gets further along in her pregnancy, so too does her psychotic and dangerous fixation on the husband. The couple becomes caught up in Anna's deadly game and must fight to regain control of their future before it's too late.
