The independent Cleveland Library in Garner was broken into sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning.

<b>GARNER, N.C.</b> — The independent <a href="http://4042needs.org/library/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cleveland Library</a> in Garner was broken into sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Spokesman Ronald Lee Still said that volunteers worked at the 5533 N.C. Highway 24 West building until closing Thursday. When they returned Friday morning, they found that a bay door had been opened during the night.

Still said that police were called about the break-in and that losses haven't been determined.

The Cleveland Library was started by Basic Needs Ministry. It has collected and is processing 65,000 books. That number raises the ratio of books per county resident from 1.7 in 2008 to 6.

The library is open 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday.
