New Fair Web site up, but nowhere near complete

Posted Updated

Fellow Fair fanatics, are you counting down the days until October? I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the 2009 Fair Web site is up. The bad news is that it's nowhere near complete. The Dorton Arena concert information will apparently be up today, but as for the rest of it... ?

The 2009 Fair site's at http://www.ncstatefair.org/2009/index.htm. There's navigation across the top and each side, including a "Get Tickets" element that looks exactly like two decorative elements. I know there's a lot to see on the site, but MAN that's a lot of navigation.

Actually there isn't TOO much to see on the site yet. The concert list will be released today. The FAQ is empty. The daily program won't be posted until August. There's no sponsorship information.

So why AM I mentioning the site? There's information on when online ticket sales start -- August 3rd. (There's also some details about getting free admission tickets if you spend more than $x in online ticket purchases.) Thursday opening dates have been confirmed for 2009 and 2010, with exhibit hall and grounds hours outlined as well.

There will be a canned food day, a military appreciation day, and a senior citizen day. If there's been any announcement of a weird Subway contest day I haven't spotted it.

So basically there's enough here to keep me interested but not enough to actually tell me anything. I'll check back again later today for the concert listings, then maybe I'll swing by again in six weeks or so....
