New downtown Raleigh parking fees go into effect in January
Visitors to downtown Raleigh on Friday and Saturday nights will have to pay for parking in four decks beginning Jan. 1.
Posted — UpdatedRaleigh City Council members approved fee changes to four decks – Wilmington Street Station, 117 S. Wilmington St.; Moore Square, 233 S. Wilmington St.; City Center, 429 S. Wilmington St.; Municipal, 201 W. Morgan St. – in November.
Parking in the four decks will remain free from 7 a.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday and after 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Fees at the other downtown Raleigh decks will also remain the same.
Additionally, on-street parking will continue to be free after 5 p.m. during the week and all day on weekends.
Raleigh will also continue to charge special event fees of $5 or $7 to park in city decks when special events are being held downtown.
