New academy offers programs for kids with ADD/ADHD

Fast Braiin Learning Academy, a new facility offering educational immersion programs for kids diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, will start its first track-out camp March 26.

The academy is an extension of the Fast Braiin program founded by Dr. Jim Poole, who has ADD. The approaches treats ADD/ADHD not as a disorder, but a "unique ability to do more and be more," according to a press release. The goal is to help students in having fun-filled experiences while encouraging the development of social skills, self confidence, independence and life skills, the release said.

The academy's executive director is Rebecca Sprowl, who has a child with ADD.

Fast Braiin Academy will offer track-out and summer programs to second through eighth graders. The program incorporates exercise, music, technology and self awareness to create a cohesive and whole-body educational experience, the release said.

The academy, at 260 Horizon Dr. off of Six Forks Rd. in Raleigh, will hold open houses from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 18. Parents who sign up their child at or before the open houses will get a 10 percent discount.
