Getting ready for the Museum of Life and Science's Family Sleepover

If your family loves the "Night at the Museum" movie series, here's a chance to actually spend a night at a museum.

The Museum of Life and Science in Durham will hold a Family Sleepover from 5 p.m., Friday, March 6, to 10 a.m., Saturday, March 7. Kids 2 and under are free.

The evening includes activities, such as building a paper airplane, exploring the behaviors of nocturnal animals and building a tunnel or teepee as part of the museum's pop-up exhibit Build It! Forts, which runs March 3 to March 8. Games and crafts also will be available for visitors who like to stay up late.

Tickets are $38 for the general public and $30 for members. Those prices are subject to a 7.5 percent sales tax. The fee includes admission to the museum on Saturday morning starting at 9 a.m. (which is usually $14 and $10 for kids ages 3 to 12); dinner; snack; a light breakfast; and the activities.

Registration is open now.
