Murder suspect arrested after body found at Fort Bragg
Authorities arrested a suspect Thursday in the slaying of a Fayetteville man whose body was found dumped on a remote trail on Fort Bragg's grounds eight months ago.

Jimmy Bailey, 33, of the 1600 block of Derrdowne Court in Fayetteville, faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Angel Pesante-Ventura, 31.
Bailey was arrested at the Amtrak train station across from the police department. He was placed in the Cumberland County jail and denied bond.
Fayetteville police and Army investigators determined that Pesante-Ventura was killed while staying at Bailey's home from Sept. 12 to 13, police spokesman Gavin MacRoberts said. Pesante-Ventura's body was then dumped along Plank Road, near Hobson Road, in the Hoke County section of Fort Bragg.
Soldiers training in nearby woods found the body on Sept. 27. Relatives had reported Pesante-Ventura as missing 10 days earlier.
Plank Road is a two-lane highway on post that is open to the public. It's a popular shortcut between Fayetteville and the Southern Pines area, but the road is remote, with no homes or businesses along it.
