At least 18 people were injured Saturday night after a deck collapsed at a beach house in Emerald Isle, authorities said.

<b>EMERALD ISLE, N.C.</b> — At least 18 people were injured Saturday night after a deck collapsed at a beach house in Emerald Isle, authorities said.

According to fire officials, several people were taking a family photo when the collapse happened at about 6:30 p.m at a home on Ocean Drive. Multiple people were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, and one person was flown to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Investigators did not immediately say what caused the deck to collapse.

On July 9, 2009, 21 members of a family vacationing at Ocean Isle Beach were injured when the second-story deck they were standing on collapsed onto a concrete patio.
