FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two nightclub raids by Alcohol Law Enforcement special agents and Fayetteville police netted 18 arrests Saturday night, including 12 employees, for drug, alcohol and weapons violations.

Authorities raided Sparky’s Sports Bar and Pub, 740 Bragg Boulevard, and Sharky’s Cabaret, 944-C Bragg Boulevard. Authorities mainly focused on Sparky’s, where patrons have complained of drug trafficking and prostitution, authorities said.

During the seven month undercover operation, ALE agents purchased cocaine and narcotics from 16 employees and one alleged drug supplier at the establishments, officials said. Both businesses have since had their ABC permits suspended, meaning they cannot serve alcohol.
