Mother: Missing son 'a child in a man's body'
The mother of a man missing since Tuesday from a state-run facility in Granville County said Thursday that she's anxious for authorities to find him.

Family members said they believe Jody Browning, 36, snuck out of his room Monday night at the Murdoch Center in Butner, which serves people with developmental disabilities.
"He loves people and loves to talk with people and is very friendly (and) outgoing," Eleanor Browning said by phone from her home in Florida. "He's really, I guess, more of a child in a man's body."
Eleanor Browning says she visited her son Memorial Day weekend, and they went to the movies together. She said she worries that he might have tried to hitch a ride with someone.
Authorities have issued a statewide Silver Alert for Jody Browning. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Butner Public Safety at 919-575-6561.
He is described as white, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 177 pounds. He has blue eyes and blond hair.
Developed in 2007, the Silver Alert system quickly notifies the public about missing endangered adults who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.
It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
