Scooter driver killed in Durham crash

A man driving a scooter was killed in a crash Friday morning near North Roxboro Street and Seven Oaks Road in Durham, according to police.

DURHAM, N.C. — A man driving a scooter was killed in a crash Friday morning near North Roxboro Street and Seven Oaks Road in Durham, according to police.

The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. when a northbound Taotao scooter driven by Quince Adam Pressley, 49, of Durham collided with the passenger side door of a southbound 2007 Toyota Corolla, according to police.

The driver of the Toyota was making a left turn into the parking lot of Kroger at 5116 N. Roxboro St. when the crash happened.

Pressley was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors in the crash, according to investigators. No charges have been filed.
