A Moore County deputy was injured Monday evening in a single-car wreck near Carthage, authorities said.

<b>CARTHAGE, N.C.</b> — A Moore County deputy was injured Monday evening in a single-car wreck near Carthage, authorities said.

The unidentified deputy ran off Vass-Carthage Road near the intersection of Farmlife School Road at about 5:45 p.m. and slammed into a tree, authorities said.

The deputy was taken to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. His condition wasn't known.

The crash was being investigated by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
