Monday will be cool, dry before much needed rain arrives in the Triangle
Monday will be cool and gray, but much needed rain will make an appearance in the region on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Clouds that moved in overnight helped keep temperatures warmer, but things will be chilly as kids head back to school Monday following the long Thanksgiving weekend, with a forecast of 37 degrees at 7 a.m.
"It's cold out there this morning," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabth Gardner. "Grab your coat before you go out!"
Despite cooler nights and mornings, Monday's high temperature will be about 60 degrees as clouds and sunshine work to slowly warm the day.
No rain is expected on Monday, so you can leave the umbrellas at home.
Temperatures will drastically increase by Tuesday, when highs approach 70 degrees as some needed rain arrives.
"We've been talking about the need for rain in the area," said WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss. "In the wake of Matthew, we've had very little rain -- in the last 30 days we've only had 0.5 of an inch." That only represents about 15 percent of what would be normal over the past month.
Rain will be scattered on Tuesday, with just a few showers but will return Wednesday morning, take a break and pick up during the afternoon through the early hours of Thursday morning.
