Kyle Ronald Frey, 39, died after he drove off the right side of the road and hit a tree on Moncure Pittsboro Road around 1:30 a.m., troopers said.

Speed was a factor, according to authorities.

Police say a woman was shot in the upper thigh while two men inside the home were arguing. EMS stabilized the woman and took her to ECU Health in Greenville. Both men suffered gunshot wounds during the altercation.
