Moe's Southwest Grill of the Triangle and the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education have teamed up on a couple of programs to emphasize healthy eating.

Moe's and Poe On-The-Go began in June, but continues weekly through Oct. 1. The program moves to a new Moe's location each week. Poe's health educators lead the program, which focuses on the fresh ingredients used at Moe's and how it can be easy to eat healthy.

Tuesdays also happen to be Moe's Kids Eat Free night so you can score a free educational activity and a free kids meal (with purchase of an entree of $5 or more, of course) that night.

Here's the schedule. All of the programs are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and take place at Moe's.

  • Sept. 3 at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham
  • Sept. 10 at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh
  • Sept. 17 at Cary Arboretum in Cary
  • Sept. 24 at Patterson Place in Durham
  • Oct. 1 at North Hills in Raleigh

On Oct. 1 at the North Hills event, Moe's and Poe also will announce the winners of its joint garden project, which will give grants to elementary schools to help children learn where food comes from and healthy eating habits. Finalists for the grants will be revealed on Moe's Triangle Facebook page this week.
