Fuquay-Varina police are investigating an armed robbery at a Moe's Southwest Grill that happened Monday morning before the restaurant opened.

<b>FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C.</b> — Fuquay-Varina police are investigating an armed robbery at a Moe's Southwest Grill that happened Monday morning before the restaurant opened.

Susan Weis, a spokeswoman for the town of Fuquay-Varina, said the robbery happened at around 10:30 a.m. when someone walked into the restaurant, at 1410 E. Broad St., emptied the cash register and then fled.

Witnesses reported seeing a light blue car driving away from the area, but Weis said investigators aren't sure yet if it was connected to the robbery.

Weis did not say how much money was in the register at the time, and there were no reports of injuries.
