RALEIGH, N.C. — A mobile museum honoring the efforts of first responders on Sept. 11, 2001, will be in Raleigh this week after being unveiled Wednesday in Fayetteville.

The museum, which is housed in a 53-foot trailer, features items donated by New York City firehouses that have been selected to offer visitors an inside view of how emergency personnel responded to the World Trade Center and Pentagon more than 12 years ago.

The museum will be on display in the east parking lot of PNC Arena, in the 1400 block of Edwards Mill Road, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. It will also be open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Saturday, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which helped create the mobile museum, will host a 5K run and walk at PNC Arena to help benefit the Building for America's Bravest program.
