Posted — UpdatedFor the first time ever, the MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Children’s Hospital will extend into a weekend. The 21st annual radiothon takes place this Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25.
After snow socked the 2014 Radiothon, planners decided to move it to a time of year when hope springs eternal – spring!
MIX morning show hosts Gene & Julie Gates will be broadcasting live from the lobby of Duke Children’s Hospital Friday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to raise money for the research, child advocacy and family support programs that allow children and families to heal both physically and emotionally.
“Leading up to the Mix 101.5 Radiothon, we’ve had the opportunity to meet many of these wonderful, courageous families who remind us what this broadcast is all about: saving lives of the beautiful children in our community with a top-notch medical facility in our own backyard,” said Julie Gates. “Duke Children’s is a magical place where miracles happen on a daily basis. We look forward to seeing what magic will take place this week from the support of our community!”
