WILSON, N.C. — Wilson police said Thursday that investigators have found the car of a missing woman whose family believes she might be dead.

Courtney Speight, 23, was last seen Saturday around 11:50 p.m. and was reported missing Tuesday.

Authorities said it is not typical for Speight to leave for long periods of time or to miss work.

Investigators did not say where her blue 2006 Nissan Altima was found.

Family members said Wednesday that they believe a body found in a creek near Willow Springs Drive might be Speight’s.

Relatives said that police showed them a photo of a shirt found on the body and that the shirt matches a black Sheetz T-shirt that Speight was last seen wearing.

Police, however, have said they haven't been able to identify the body. They are awaiting autopsy results to help with the process.

Meanwhile, they are asking anyone with information about Speight's disappearance or the body to call the Wilson Police Department at 252-399-2323.
