ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — The Halifax County Sheriff's Office is looking for two suspects in a shooting that injured a 44-year-old Roanoke Rapids woman Sunday.

Detectives said Maggie Graham was shot off N.C. Highway 48 after a verbal altercation with Charles Edward Hockaday and Alston Lamont Parker.

Hockaday, 29, and Parker, 23, both of Roanoke Rapids, are on the loose. Detectives warned the men are considered armed and dangerous.

Hockaday was one of four suspects in the April 2008 killing of 29-year-old Jerry Wayne Yellorday. Charges against all four were dropped last October after a judge ruled that there was no probable cause to continue the case.

According to state Department of Correction records, Hockaday's 10-year-long criminal record includes convictions for common-law robbery and selling drugs.
