RALEIGH, N.C. — Two men were injured Monday in a shooting at a north Raleigh apartment.

Before 4:30 a.m., officers with the Raleigh Police Department responded to the 6200 block of Shanda Drive.

Both men were taken to the hospital. One was seriously injured, and the other had non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A suspect was not in custody.

The shooting is under investigation.

Tyler Williams, a neighbor, told WRAL News he was awake taking care of his 1-moth-old infant during the shooting. He said the Oct. 13 Hedingham shooting, which left five people dead and two injured, is still fresh in his mind.

"My lady's in the house all shaken up, you know, especially when it's this close, and then what happened a couple days ago, you never know if somebody's on the loose ... so it definitely rattles up a lot of emotions."

A second Hedingham shooting occurred Sunday night, three days after the mass shooting, leaving neighbors there worried and even in tears. No one was injured in the second shooting, which is not connected to the north Raleigh shooting.

Firefighters responded to a large fire in the same area earlier this month. At least 10 people had to leave their homes due to the damage.
