Raleigh police offer reward for assist with kidnapping case

Raleigh police are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest of a man who kidnapped a McDonald's employee July 2 and forced her to drive to the restaurant in Holly Springs so he could rob the business.

HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — Raleigh police are offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest of a man who kidnapped a McDonald's employee July 2 and forced her to drive to the restaurant in Holly Springs so he could rob the business.

The woman, whose name was withheld by police, arrived home about 12:30 a.m. after finishing her shift when the man confronted her at gunpoint. She drove him back to the restaurant, which was closed.

Police said when man got out of her car, she drove away. She was shot during her escape and drove herself to a hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening.

Mark Andrews, spokesman for the Town of Holly Springs, said the man did not get inside the restaurant or steal anything from the property.

Holly Springs and Raleigh police are working together to find the gunman. The description of the man was vague, but he was short and thin and armed with a silver revolver.
