Slide the City could stop in Raleigh and Durham
RALEIGH, N.C. — It's finally official: Slide the City is coming to Raleigh on May 30. Thousands are expected to slip and slide down Glenwood Avenue near downtown.

The event, described as a family friendly slip-and-slide water party that's traveling the nation, has gotten nods from both city and state officials, who have signed off on the plans, said Brad Behle, Slide the City event director.

According to Slide the City's website, the events feature slides stretching 1,000 feet, which is longer than three football fields. Kids must be taller than 46 inches or older than 5 years to participate. Kids under 18 need to get sign off from their parent or legal guardian.

Early bird registration is $30. Regular registration is $35. Late registration costs $40. Slide the City's website has more information. Behle said registration will begin Wednesday.
