RALEIGH, N.C. — More than half of the building materials for booths and restaurants for the International Festival of Raleigh were stolen Thursday night, officials said Friday.

The thieves hooked up one of the festival's storage trailers on South Blount Street and drove off with the contents, officials said. The trailer held items decorated by artists to portray the different cultures that participate in the festival, cultural exhibits and walls and backdrops that make up the festival's infrastructure.

The festival is scheduled for Oct. 1-3 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

Anyone with information about the theft or who has seen a trailer with wooden building walls and other items is asked to call Raleigh police or the International Festival office at 919-782-0552.
