Mary Poppins fans: N.C. Theatre plans storytime, tea with Mary

N.C. Theatre is gearing up for a big production of Disney & Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins.

The show runs July 26 to July 31 at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. I am so excited to see the show this month with my older daughter!

In addition to the show, the company will host a couple of special Mary-related events in the next couple of weeks. Here is what is scheduled:

10 a.m. to noon, July 15, Storytime with Mary Poppins. This free event at Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh includes a storytime with Mary, along with crafts and activities. It is in the promotional court on the lower level across from Sears.

1 p.m., July 3, Tea with Mary! Enjoy a private tea party with everyone's favorite nanny at the Duke Energy Center. Tickets are $35 each and include high tea, a special activity with Mary, a gift to take home and a photo opportunity with the character. It ends just before the 2 p.m. show that day. Tickets, at last check, are still available for this, but they will sell out. So get yours soon if you want to go.
