LUMBERTON, N.C. — U.S. Marshals arrested a fugitive from Alabama Monday in a Lumberton campground.

Donald McCain, 48, of Millbrook, Ala., was charged with activities relating to material involving the sexual exploitation of minors, the marshals service said. He was serving a sentence of electronic supervision in Alabama when he tampered with the equipment and broke free in January.

Marshals in Alabama requested the assistance of the Eastern District of North Carolina Violent Fugitive Task Force after determining that McCain was thought to be working with a traveling carnival operation in this area.

Members of the task force tracked McCain to Sleepy Bear’s Family Campground in Lumberton where they arrested him without incident.
