Marshals apprehend soldier wanted on sex assault charges
A former Fort Bragg soldier accused of sexually assaulting a minor and an adult in Harnett County has been arrested in Puerto Rico, authorities said Thursday.

U.S. marshals, Army investigators and Harnett County deputies tracked Oscar Lamar Rodriguez through several states in recent weeks and determined that he had fled to Puerto Rico.
Members of the U.S. Marshals Puerto Rico Violent Offender Task Force arrested Rodriguez on Thursday morning after a brief pursuit. He is now awaiting extradition to North Carolina.
Rodriguez, 34, is charged with two counts of second-degree rape, five counts of second-degree sexual offense, one count of sexual battery, three counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of crimes against nature and three counts of first degree burglary.
Investigators say the crimes are alleged to have occurred from May to August and on Dec. 31. Rodriguez was familiar with the victims, investigators said.
