Back by demand! Last summer, we offered a great membership deal to the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences. And, thanks to reader requests and last summer's success, we're doing it again!

So here's the deal: On Tuesday, June 16, get a family membership to the downtown Raleigh science museum for $55, which is $15 off the usual $70. All you need to do is present code GOASKMOM at the museum box office or enter the code GOASKMOM when purchasing a family membership online. Again, this is good on June 16.

What are some of the perks of membership at a museum that charges free admission? Members get:

Free admission to special exhibits. A new exhibit called Extreme Mammals will open this fall. Tickets to that exhibit would cost a family of four $50 (for two adults and two kids ages 5 to 11). So a discounted family membership would nearly pay for itself after a visit to the exhibit. But you could go as many times as you'd like! My girls and I have been known to go to special exhibits a half dozen times over the course of a run.

Perks such as discounts on birthday parties; discounts and priority registration for summer camps (which I highly recommend); a discount at the museum store; special events for members; and hospitality areas at some of the museum's big events such as BugFest.

Free or discounted membership to more than 300 science museums around the world, which come in handy on family vacations this summer.

Bonus: Your $55 family membership is fully tax deductible.

Writes one Go Ask Mom reader: "We joined last year using the discount. We have really enjoyed the membership!"
