Man, woman charged with breaking into, burning building

Police arrested a Raleigh man and woman after a building under construction at 13600 New Falls of Neuse Road was broken into and set on fire Friday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police arrested a Raleigh man and woman after a building under construction at 13600 New Falls of Neuse Road was broken into and set on fire Friday.

Heather Ahrem, 26, and Matthew Poolt, 28, both of 2900 Bergamot Court, face charges of felony breaking-and-entering and burning a building under construction, according to arrest warrants.

No motive has been given.

They were being held in the Wake County Jail under separate $22,000 secured bonds Sunday afternoon. Both were scheduled to make their first court appearance on Tuesday.
