GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A man wanted in connection with a South Carolina slaying was arrested Thursday in Wayne County, authorities said.
Eddie Emanuel McCoy was arrested on U.S. Highway 13 North on a fugitive warrant and is being held without bond in the Wayne County Detention Center while awaiting extradition.
McCoy is charged in Dillon, S.C., with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possessing a firearm during a violent crime. The charges stem from a 2005 shooting that left a man in a coma for two years before his recent death.
