Man Wanted in Officer's Shooting Arrested
A man wanted in the September shooting of a Durham police officer was apprehended Tuesday, police said.

Kevin Burnett "K.J." Johnson, 27, of Concord Street, was charged with second-degree burglary, aggravated assault on a law-enforcement officer with a firearm and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Johnson was arrested Tuesday afternoon on Windsor Circle in Chapel Hill by members of the U.S. Marshal's Service Fugitive Task Force and Durham and Chapel Hill police officers.
Two men broke into an apartment at 1410 Cherrycrest Drive on Sept. 23, police said. Officer D.B. Vereen confronted the men at the back of the house, and they fired on him, hitting him in the back and arm.
David Wendale Williams, 22, was arrested after a 90-minute standoff at house in Burlington on Sept. 28 and charged with Vereen's shooting. Elwanda Robertson, of Durham, has been charged with being an accessory after the fact of a felony in the case.
